Using いちばん, ほど〜ない, and おなじぐらい

This is the comparison follow-on lesson for saying the most, not as much, and about the same.

Warm-up

Read and notice

  1. クラス で にほんご が いちばん すき です。Japanese is my favourite in the class.
  2. ニュージーランド は にほん ほど いそがしく ない です。New Zealand is not as busy as Japan.

Structure drill

Rebuild the pattern

  1. いちばんUse it for the most in a group.
  2. ほど〜ないUse it for 'not as ... as'.
  3. おなじぐらいUse it for 'about the same'.
