Using の and こと to turn actions into ideas

This is one of the most useful structures for saying what you like, dislike, hear, watch, or find difficult.

Warm-up

Read and notice

  1. にほんご を はなす こと が すき です。I like speaking Japanese.
  2. はやく おきる の は むずかしい です。Waking up early is difficult.
