Using 〜ので to give a reason politely

Use ので to give a reason in a polite, soft way — it sounds more formal and natural than から in writing.

plain form + ので / na-adjective な + ので / noun な + ので

  1. あしたは しけん な ので、はやく ねます。Because there is an exam tomorrow, I will go to bed early.
  2. つかれた ので、きょう は やすみたい です。Because I am tired, I want to rest today.
