Using 〜たいです to say what you want to do

Use this to express your personal desire or wish to do something. It attaches to the verb stem.

  1. にほん へ いきたい です。I want to go to Japan.
  2. ラーメン を たべたい です。I want to eat ramen.

Structure drill

Rebuild the pattern

  1. Verb stemRemove ます from the masu-form to get the stem.
  2. たいですAdd たいです to express that you want to do it.
  3. Object particleThe object particle changes: を becomes が or を (either is accepted).
