Using 〜ています for ongoing or habitual actions

Use this to describe something happening right now, a habit, or a state that continues over time.

  2. まいにち にほんご を べんきょう して います。I study Japanese every day.

Rebuild the pattern

  1. て-formChange the verb to its て-form.
  2. いますAdd います to show ongoing or continuing action.
  3. Time wordAdd いま or まいにち to make the meaning clear.
